Interclub events

Friendly competition between BYS Recognised Windsurfing Clubs

What are interclub events?

The interclub events are friendly competition amongst the BYS Recognised Windsurfing Clubs pitched to cater for all levels of ability. Every BYS Recognised Windsurfing Club in each region will usually have three or four local interclub events per year. Interclub events are one-day events so there is no need to arrange overnight accommodation, although some teams may choose to camp and make a weekend of it.

You will sail and race with others who have the same size sail as you to keep things fair and there are prizes to be won - and not just by those who get top scores - so join in the fun! We reckon if you try it you will be hooked.

Individual entries

While this is set up as an interclub competition you can also enter as an individual, even if you're not a member of a BYS Recognised Windsurfing Club.

RYA membership is essential

When you take part in interclub events, it is a requirement that you are an RYA member; you will need to take your RYA membership card along to events. You can join online.  RYA membership gives you free third party insurance and free sail numbers (usually £26) - email technical@rya.org.uk to request your sail numbers.

For details of interclub events, training and results keep an eye on Techno 293 UK site for all the information.  The interclub events and regional series are run by the RYA and the Bic Techno 293 Class Association.
