Clubs should protect their interests and consider looking at all of their activities and arrange appropriate insurance cover which can extend to all of their current arrangements, activities, premises etc.

The RYA has negotiated a comprehensive insurance policy on behalf of its affiliates, which is available through Gallagher and underwritten by Navigators & General (part of the Zurich Group).  The policy is intended to cover the risks affiliates may face, however, each affiliate's insurance needs will differ according to their individual circumstances and Gallagher can advise on appropriate policy coverage and tailor the insurance solution accordingly.

RYA Compensation Levels Report

 

We have produced the RYA Compensation Levels Report to help inform RYA affiliates as to the level of insurance they may require in order to facilitate discussions with insurance brokers. The report sets out examples of cases where courts have awarded damages thereby giving an indication of the scope and spectrum of the awards made, which we hope will help RYA affiliates to reach an informed decision when in discussion with their broker
