There’s just one month to go until our upcoming Connected Scotland event, and this year we’re heading to the Regional Performance Centre in Dundee on the 2nd and 3rd of November.
We can’t wait to bring together representatives and attendees from various organisations across Scotland, as well as coaches and instructors, to get stuck into a packed programme of workshops, discussions, and networking opportunities.
And this year, thanks to our kind Sponsors Freedom Boat Club Loch Lomond, we are thrilled to be offering attendance free of charge.
Bookings are currently live, with the option to attend either one or both days.
RYA Scotland Development Manager Liza Linton is looking forward to bringing as many people together as possible. She said:
“Building on the successes from our last Connected Scotland gathering, we can’t wait to come together once again to share, learn, and grow, as we know how important open conversations are in culturing a true community feel across Scotland. The event has proven a valuable opportunity for delegates to build a picture as to what activity is on the go nationwide, as well as any emerging trends visible at our different clubs, centres, and organisations.
“We’re particularly excited to be expanding Connected Scotland to two days, allowing even greater scope for our various sessions and workshops – so please do make the most of what’s on offer, and get involved!”
Connected Scotland will bring together affiliated clubs and organisations, as well as recognised training centres; giving attendees the chance to engage in discussion spanning several different elements of our community.
Additionally, we’re excited to encourage along more young participants within our sport, allowing us to take forward our new ‘Youth Voices’ effort which looks to listen to and gather opinions from u25s. We hope to build on findings from our ongoing engagement activities, with the aim of developing an effective structure by which to bring young perspectives together going forwards.
The gathering will also be a fantastic opportunity to share cross-departmental messages across Participation & Development, Coaching, and Pathway (formerly Performance), with representation from right across our staff team.
We can’t wait to get stuck in. And, with loads of workshops and sessions to choose from both days, there’s sure to be plenty to keep everyone busy.
From practical discussions around topics we know are integral to many affiliated organisations, to broader discussions around volunteer trends and approaches to communicating between generations – we hope everyone will leave with new ideas and plenty food for thought.
