RYA Legal Update

RYA releases Report on Compensation Levels:

In order to assist RYA affiliates and Recognised Training Centres (RTCs) in determining the potential level of insurance cover they may need and to aid discussions with insurance brokers, the RYA Legal Team has produced a Report on Compensation Levels.

The report focuses on examples of cases (largely recreation and leisure based) and the level of damages awarded by the Courts, thereby giving an indication of the scope and spectrum of the awards made.

We hope the Report will help to inform RYA affiliates and RTCs so as to assist discussions with their broker.
