Upcoming Courses

 

We have a number of upcoming courses for Autumn 2021. 

The following courses are available to attend: 

Regional Race Officer Course

This course will be held remotely over Zoom, over Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th October, starting at 9:30 both days, and finishing at approximately 4pm. The instructors for this course will be National Race Officers, Mike Johnson & James Ripley.

There will be a number of modules you will need to view prior to attending the course, as well as a short 10 question quiz, based on these modules. 10/10 must be achieved on the quiz to allow you to attend the course. All information will be sent as soon as you have booked on to the course. 

There will also be an online exam to be taken following the course. Passing this exam is one of the qualification requirements for the RYA Regional Race Officer qualification. All other RRO qualification requirements can be found here

Regional Race Officer Course

We will be running a in person Regional Race Officer course on Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th October 2021, in the London & South East Region starting at 9:30 both days, and finishing at approximately 4pm. 

Instructors will be International Race Officer Peter Saxton, and Regional Race Officer Tanya Robinson. 

There will be a number of modules you will need to view prior to attending the course, as well as a short 10 question quiz, based on these modules. 10/10 must be achieved on the quiz to allow you to attend the course. All information will be sent as soon as you have booked on to the course. 

There will also be an online exam to be taken following the course. Passing this exam is one of the qualification requirements for the RYA Regional Race Officer qualification. All other RRO qualification requirements can be found here

Regional Race Officer Course

This course will be held remotely over Zoom, over 3 evenings in September 2021 starting at 19:00 each evening, and finishing at 21:30. The instructors for this course are TBC. You must attend all 3 sessions.

There will be a number of modules you will need to view prior to attending the course, as well as a short 10 question quiz, based on these modules. 10/10 must be achieved on the quiz to allow you to attend the course. All information will be sent as soon as you have booked on to the course. 

There will also be an online exam to be taken following the course. Passing this exam is one of the qualification requirements for the RYA Regional Race Officer qualification. All other RRO qualification requirements can be found here

Regional Judge Course

We will be running two Regional Judge courses this Autumn. If you have a desire to become a RYA Regional Judge, this is the course for you!

The first course will be delivered remotely over 3 Tuesday evenings in September 2021. You must attend all 3 sessions. This course will begin at 19:00 each evening and finish at 21:30. 

The week in between the 3 remote sessions is to give attendees a chance to complete the individual self-study modules. These self-study modules will be mostly in advance of the course, but also in between the remote sessions. There will be a self-study module to complete before the first remote session, then one after the first remote session. The final self-study module will be after the second remote session. 

The instructors are to be confirmed. 

This course has a short pre-course quiz, which must be completed before attending the course, and a score of 10 of more must be achieved. After completing the quiz, you will receive written feedback on your answers.

There will also be an exam at the end of this course, which can be taken online.

Regional Judge Course

The second Regional Judge course will also be delivered remotely over 3 Wednesday evenings in November 2021. You must attend all 3 sessions. This course will begin at 19:00 each evening and finish at 21:30.

The week in between the 3 remote sessions is to give attendees a chance to complete the individual self-study modules. These self-study modules will be mostly in advance of the course, but also in between the remote sessions. There will be a self-study module to complete before the first remote session, then one after the first remote session. The final self-study module will be after the second remote session. 

The instructors for this course are to be confirmed. 

This course has a short prerequisite pre-course quiz, which must be completed before attending the course, and a score of 10 of more must be achieved. After completing the quiz, you will receive written feedback on your answers.

There will also be an exam at the end of this course, which can be taken online.  

Passing the exam at the end of the course is one of the qualification requirements for the RYA Regional Judge qualification. All other RJ qualification requirements can be found on our website here.

Introduction to Umpire

We have planned a remote Introduction to Umpire for September 2021. Dates are to be confirmed in due course. 

National Judge Course

We will be running a National Judge Course in January 2022. This course will be a 1 day course in person. The course will begin at 9:15 and finish at approximately 17:45. The exam will be taken in person on the same day, and the instructors will mark these and provide you with feedback.

National Race Officer Course

We will be running an in person National Race Officer Course in January 2022. This course will be in the London & South East Region, venue is TBC. This course will begin at 10:00 on Saturday and 9:30 on Sunday.

National Umpire - Team Racing

We will also be running a National Umpire course in Team Racing, in October 2021, in person. Dates and location are TBC in due course.
