We're sure many centres will already be familiar with Amy Frampton who has been working as the RYA’s eLearning Assistant for over 5 years, assisting with the development, administration, and support of the RYA Interactive site.
She has recently taken on an exciting new opportunity as eLearning Manager, taking over from Jane Hall who is sadly leaving us after nearly 20 years at the RYA. Read on to find out more about Amy and her new role…
I’m looking forward to getting the chance to develop new, engaging online courses and projects in the future. Also the challenge of bringing our existing online courses up to date.
I originally started my career in eLearning with the NHS, where I was working in the HR department and moved over to the Learning and Development team to help them deal with the implementation of transferring over to a new LMS (Learning Management System) for their mandatory online courses.
I’ve always had an interest in creative learning, even when in school when I used to create my own websites and online quizzes for my friends.
The best thing about the online courses is getting to take them at your own pace, wherever you are in the world. We're really excited to have recently launched the RYA Interactive site upgrade, making the site more user friendly for both training centres and students alike.
My family have always worked in the boating sector, including both my parents and my grandfather who used to be a chef on the Queen Mary II and it was only natural that I followed suit!
I also work backstage at my local theatre as a Dresser, assisting with costume changes during the performances. I’ve worked there for over 12 years now and have had the privilege of working with many celebrities including Paul O’Grady, Gok Wan and Marti Pellow to name a few!
