Hoist Competency

Hoist Competency - a one-day course to equip you with a general set of principles to use when operating a hoist. It will also enable you to share this knowledge with others at your venues. Classroom and practical outdoor sessions make up the day. Usually run for a cluster of sites, rather than on an individual basis.

Cost is £50.00 per person.

Moving and Handling

Moving and Handling - a three-day course for people who wish to run in-house training and inductions to volunteers at their own venue. It covers all aspects of safe moving and handling and is for people who have experience of hoisting and are confident in delivering training 1:1 or in small groups.

One day is online, day two and three are in person. The course is completed with a written exam and formal observation. It requires an annual update, which the RYA organise.

Cost £150.00 per person.

Session Lead

A one-day course in the classroom providing a framework for creating a positive safety culture during sessions on the water focussing on people, practices and documentation. Topics include responsibilities and planning, managing risk, growing confidence, dealing with incidents. Usually run for a number of sites.
