Brownsea island

Sail around the largest island in Poole Harbour

Enjoy a trip around stunning Poole Harbour, with so much activity going on there is plenty to see, you may even catch sight of deer swimming to the island if you are very lucky. If a days sailing isn't enough there is also plenty of opportunity to try other water sports from some of the many providers along the harbour shoreline.

Trail Tips

Tips and advice from sailors that have completed the trail:

  • "There are a large number of parking spaces I would still arrive really early on busy sunny days"
  • "The slipway is well marked and not too steep, though finding it on the return required quite sharp eyes. Also it is quite often a lee shore - and when we arrived back the land/sea breeze had really picked up"
  • "The east side of the island is much busier, proceed with caution"
