Definition
Competent people whose suitability has been given due consideration are overseeing activity.
Steps
Step 1 Describe the competency required for each safety critical role and record the committee or role within the organisation who can appoint to that role.
Guidance
Competency is about proven skills, ability and knowledge.
Authority and desire to undertake roles are key components.
Consider recording who has been appointed to each role.
There may be times when formal qualifications are a requirement because of relationship with another organisation, or as a result of statute.
