RYA Board Elections
The RYA Nominations Committee has carefully considered the forthcoming vacancies as two Directors, Duncan Rutherford and Corrine Cunningham, reach the conclusion of their first terms.
Both Directors were originally elected by the membership and, over the past two years, have demonstrated exceptional commitment and made significant contributions to the work of the Board. Specifically, Duncan has excelled as a member of the Digital SteerCo and demonstrates solid counsel on organisational process representing key insight into the North region. As a qualified accountant Corinne’s experience is invaluable as a member of the Audit and Risk Committee alongside her skills in risk management and background in conferences, helping to guide the Dinghy and Watersports Show.
In recognition of their strong performance and continued dedication, the Board has unanimously endorsed their re-election for a second term.
Corinne Cunningham
Board Member to AGM 2025 An outdoor sports enthusiast, Corinne is committed to making sailing more inclusive and diverse. A qualified Chartered Accountant she also has a wealth of experience in delivering digital transformation for publishing, training and events businesses.
Duncan Rutherford
In addition to his role running BT’s online technology retail team, Duncan works as a marine surveyor. This gives him first-hand experience to share with the RYA of the passions and challenges faced by boat-owners in both Inland Waterways and coastal waters in the north of the country.

The Board of Directors is comprised of a mix of non-executive and executive directors and it meets regularly to conduct its business
Newly Appointed Non-Executive Director
Alongside these re-elections, the RYA Board is in the process of recruiting a newly appointed Non-Executive Director. This addition will bring fresh perspectives and complementary skills, to support the ongoing delivery of our strategic objectives and will ensure a balanced mix of experience and new insight across the Board.
