Inland Navigation Panel Member

Can you help us shape and protect the future of our inland waterways?

We’re looking for active inland boaters or small business operators to join our Inland Navigation Panel to champion local concerns and help shape national policy through meaningful representation.

Supporting the External Affairs and Cruising Committee on inland waterways policy decisions, INP meets twice a year, as well as sharing insights and ideas between meetings. With support from RYA staff, the panel highlights issues within the inland waterways network (canals, rivers, broads) and helps develop agreed RYA positions that panel members can represent at key navigation authority forums.

As a flavour of what the panel works on, recent focus includes the Boat Safety Scheme’s work on Lithium-ion batteries, Canal & River Trust licencing consultation, Environment Agency restructuring, and emergency works to keep the river Thames open at Teddington.

We’d love to hear from you. Please complete this INP Volunteer Interest Form to express your interest.
