British Sailing Pathway Psychologist

British Sailing Pathway is seeking Pathway Psychologists to support the delivery and continued development of psychological provision across the British Sailing Youth Team and English Talent Academies, aligned to the British Sailing Team World Class Programme.
We’re looking for someone with:
- BSc or MSc in Psychology (accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS))
- HCPC registration as a Sport & Exercise Psychologist via BPS Stage 2 (QSEP) or BASES SEPAR
- Experience working with 14-20 year old athletes in talent or pathway environments
- A strong understanding of long‑term athlete development and positive performance cultures
- Confidence delivering engaging group‑based psychology sessions.
- The ability to build effective relationships with athletes, coaches and parents
- Flexibility to travel and work weekends in line with the programme
What you’ll do:
- Work alongside the British Sailing Team Sport Science Team to support a coherent pathway psychology strategy.
- Help deliver a progressive, age‑appropriate psychology curriculum across the talent pathway.
- Deliver psychology education at national camps, events and through online sessions.
- Provide appropriate one‑to‑one support within professional and safeguarding boundaries
- Contribute to coach and parent education, supporting healthy, high‑performance environments
The contract amounts to approximately 48 days at £225 a day for a year with the possibility of renewal based on performance and programme needs.
