British Sailing Youth Team iQFOiL Coach
The British Sailing Youth Team seeks a knowledgeable and motivated iQFOiL coach who can the support the development of youth sailors within a collaborative performance environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact on the development of our next generation of champions.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Strong iQFOiL racing experience, underpinned by up-to-date knowledge of equipment, formats and class rules
- A clear understanding of iQFOiL performance, including speed, starting and race decision-making within youth competition
- A collaborative approach, working effectively with coaches, sailors, parents and RYA staff
- An approachable coaching style that builds trust and encourages athlete ownership
- A technically minded approach to equipment set-up and performance
- The ability to inspire and engage young athletes
Desirable:
- Experience or interest in using data and technology to support development
- Experience coaching at international regattas
What you’ll be doing
- Support the design and delivery of an aligned, evidence-based programme
- Deliver high-quality coaching at camps and regattas, focusing on key performance areas
- Provide technical input on equipment, set-up and iQFOiL performance
- Work closely with the Head Coach and wider team to ensure a consistent, collaborative approach
- Support athletes at competitions to help them perform at their best
- Contribute to ongoing development through reviews, feedback and remote coaching
- Communicate clearly with sailors, parents and staff to maintain alignment and clarity
The contract amounts to approximately 50 days from 28th August 2026 to 31st August 2027 with the possibility of renewal based on performance and programme needs.
Commitment to the whole programme is essential the confirmed dates are: - 28-31 August, 19-20 Sept, 21-31 Oct, 5-6 Dec, 19-22 Dec, 15-20 Feb, 20-21 March, 8-10 April, 29 May- 1 June & 1-10 July 2027.
