British Sailing Youth Team IQFoil Lead Coach

The British Youth Sailing Team seeks a highly motivated and experienced coach to lead the development of youth IQFoil sailors within the performance pathway. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact on the development of our next generation of champions.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Proven experience in coaching windsurfing or foiling racing.
  • Comprehensive understanding of iQFOiL equipment, racing formats, and rules.
  • Strong knowledge of iQFOiL speed, starting techniques, and decision-making strategies.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to inspire, engage, and motivate young athletes.
  • Experience of coaching at international regatta’s is desirable.

What you'll do:

  • Programme Planning: Create and deliver an evidence-based programme that all stakeholders (sailors, parents, operations, Head Coach/Manager) are aligned and committed to.
  • Camp Delivery: Plan and lead well-structured training camps that focus on the most impactful long-term goals.
  • Coaching: Deliver high-quality coaching that encourage sailors to take ownership of their learning and provide feedback that supports progress.
  • Competition Support: Drive the team’s approach to competitions, ensuring athletes are prepared and supported to perform at their best.
  • Continuous Development: Use time between camps and regattas for sailor reviews and remote learning, updating individual and squad development plans.
  • Communication & Leadership: Build positive relationships and communicate clearly with sailors, parents, and RYA staff about programme expectations and rationale.

The contract amounts to approximately 60 days from asap to 31st August 2026 with the possibility of renewal based on performance and programme needs.
