Racing Operations Administrator (Fixed-Term Contract Maternity Cover)
The Royal Yachting Association, based in Hamble, near Southampton, is the national governing body for all forms of recreational, competitive and professional boating. It represents dinghy and yacht racing, motor and sail cruising, RIBs and sportsboats, windsurfing, inland cruising and personal watercraft.
Job Role: Racing Operation Administrator (Fixed-Term Contract Maternity Cover)
Salary: £24,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time 35 hours per week
Location: Hamble (hybrid working)
We are currently looking for a proactive and highly organised Racing Operations Administrator to join our Sports Department on a full-time basis to provide maternity cover starting in January 2026. This role is key to supporting the British Sailing Youth Team Programme and ensuring the smooth running of its operations
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Acting as a point of contact for the British Sailing Youth Team Programme.
- Coordinating logistics and resources for British Sailing Youth Team training and events, including booking venues, accommodation, and coach resources for both domestic and international competitions.
- Administering the application, selection and acceptance process for youth sailors.
- Processing invoices and expenses, ensuring accuracy and timely payment.
- Arranging performance specialists for UK training camps.
- Maintaining records of domestic and international class results.
- Updating relevant sections of the RYA website with current programme information.
- Managing corporate credit card transactions and monthly reconciliations.
- Providing general administrative support to the Racing Department.
- Completing other tasks as may reasonably be required, including ad hoc support with Reception cover.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- A Level or equivalent or other relevant working experience.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and numeracy.
- Confident communicator with good interpersonal skills.
- IT literate, including Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience working in a busy, fast-paced office environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
