In episode 3 of her Croatian sailing adventure, Dee Caffari is joined by Arnella from sustainable marine tourism experts, Green Sail, to discuss how we as sailors can be better guardians of our wonderful waterways.
Dee and Arnella talk about the simple changes those enjoying sailing holidays can make to protect our waters and wildlife, such as eco drift when coming in to a new port.
Arnella suggests that if sailors visiting Croatia’s 1200 islands want to see and protect the amazing sea creatures and seagrass meadows there, we should look to the nautical practices of the past. Inspired by these tips and the idea of living like the sailors of the past, Dee continues her journey along the Dalmatian Coast with the intention of wasting little and living with less.
