Description:

The course will begin with an introduction outlining the need for umpires in team racing, and the qualities that an umpire should display. A brief reminder of the rules governing team racing will be given as well as an introduction to the procedures involved in umpiring. This will lead into the most important sessions, how umpires communicate between themselves in order to decide incidents promptly and correctly.

We will also then discuss correct umpire positioning on the water in order to facilitate decision making.
