This Regional Training Day is designed to support current Senior Instructors in developing their instructional skills and enhancing their personal effectiveness. 

Senior Instructors rely on their credibility when leading instructor teams, and credibility comes from competence and demonstrated expertise. This training day will take you back to the fundamentals, enabling you to work with your instructor team with greater confidence and integrity.  With a focus on the RYA Double-Handed Method and Seamanship Skills, the day will revisit the core principles of effective instruction.

By the end of the day, you will:

• Be able to define what ‘good’ looks like in RYA instruction and delivery
• Have a strong understanding of the RYA dinghy schemes and their content
• Be able to break sessions down into clear aims and key teaching points
• Be confident in structuring effective sessions
• Understand the instructor-to-trainer pathway

With an emphasis on personal development, sessions will be adapted to participants’ ability levels, prevailing conditions, and available equipment. You will be actively encouraged to contribute to session planning, helping to maximise relevance and learning throughout the day.
