RYA Connected Workshops in the London and South East region
Join us to explore the topics that matter most to your organisation at a local level
Get set for the season ahead with our RYA Connected Workshops
Following on from the RYA Connected Conferences, we have lined up a series of free workshops during January and February 2026. Focused on coming together at a local level and exploring hot topics you’ve told us are important to you.
For 2026 we will be focusing on the following topics
- Developing People: Local Solutions for Instructor Training & Development
Collaborate on practical, grassroots solutions for workforce development. You’ll explore how to build local capacity, share best practices, and work together to create tailored workforce development plans that empower each organisation to run its own courses and shape its future.
- Strengthening Your Safety Management Systems
This session revisits what a robust safety management system looks like and helps you identify and address gaps. Through shared best practices and real-world examples, you’ll leave with actionable ideas to enhance safety across all your on-water activities.
- Shaping Your Membership Offer for Growth and Retention
High membership churn can hold back growth and may signal that members aren’t finding the value they expect. This session will help you uncover insights and practical tools to ensure your membership offer is compelling and attractive to a broad audience and builds a culture that makes staying the easy choice. Leave with actionable ideas to help your club retain members year after year.
- Engaging and Retaining Juniors and Families
Explore practical ways to attract, engage, and retain young sailors and their families. Learn how structured training, the RYA OnBoard programme, transitioning to a racing pathway and volunteering opportunities can create a sense of belonging and progression. Leaving with actionable steps to build a thriving junior membership.
Hosted by the RYA London & South East Regional Team, these evenings will provide local opportunities for us to learn together. You’ll be able to catch up with the latest insights and take away actionable ideas to inform your planning and activities for the coming year and beyond.
Open to all RYA Affiliated clubs, classes and organisations, our workshops will focus on essential themes and include time for you to network with other attendees.
