Devon based artist, Summer Jane, creates acrylic paintings which aim to encapsulate the energy and excitement of sailing, presenting it in a contemporary style. Each painting is to be felt, not just seen, transporting you to a particular moment on the water. She brings sailing art into the twenty first century. Summer loves to spend hours in her studio in South Devon, working with lots of energy and freedom. The key is to not overthink each mark and detail but to still somehow accurately capture the true form of the sails. In all her work she includes a signature “pop of orange” to add a fun and unique finishing touch.

Her work has been seen at Cowes Week, Southampton Boat Show and Dartmouth Royal Regatta. Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal has one of Summer’s paintings hanging in her own home. Commissions: Summer also offers the opportunity to commission a bespoke painting to suit you and your home perfectly. You can talk colours, composition, size and even have your own boat or favourite photo turned into a painting in Summer’s unique style.
