RYA NI Cruising Conference 2025 to provide sailors and boaters with useful and up-to-date information to improve their experiences on the water

Bookings are now open for the RYA Northern Ireland Cruising Conference 2025.

This event offers valuable insights into seamanship, safety, navigation, and the latest developments in cruising. Attendees will be able to enhance their knowledge through a variety of interactive workshops and presentations from guest speakers, ultimately ensuring that their cruising experiences are more enjoyable.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet other members of the Northern Irish cruising community, sharing experiences and stories, as well as asking questions of industry experts.

The event will be hosted at Strangford Lough Yacht Club on the 22nd of November and tickets can be purchased for £40 here.  

Agenda and guest speakers

The day will commence at 9.30am for arrivals with tea and coffee and there will also be a hot lunch provided.

There will be a range of guest speakers, including:

Bob Bradfield – (Navigation) Bob Bradfield has spent 15 years working to update charts of Scottish anchorages. He will illustrate his talk with photos and anecdotes from his 15 years of surveying the Scottish West Coast waters.

Simon Exley from Wavelength Training - (Sea Survival)

An attendee from the RYA (Central office in Hamble) – They will provide updates on the latest changes that may impact cruisers and will be open to take any questions from those attending.

 Irish Lights – They will provide a review of navaids and outline the new Irish Lights Strategy for 2025-2030

Julian and Patricia Morgan – Julian and Patricia will talk about their sailing travels across the world. In their ‘Cruising Across the World’ presentation they will share pictures and anecdotes from their cruising travels, showcasing both highlights and challenges along the way.
