RYA Cymru Wales is proud to announce Intego Pro Sports Sunscreen as a brand partner marking the beginning of an exciting collaboration aimed at promoting sun safety and supporting sailing and boating across Wales.

As the official sunscreen partner, Intego Pro brings its advanced hypoallergenic, long lasting UV water resistant protection to the forefront of sailing and boating in Wales.

Intego Pro is developed and manufactured in the UK and is created to perform. It is the sunscreen of choice for professional athletes and water sports enthusiasts and is used by the Athena Pathway, Olympic athletes and was used by the British teams of the Women’s and Youth America’s Cup.

This partnership will help educate and equip sailors and coaches with high-quality sun care products - supporting healthy lifestyles both on and off the water.

“We’re thrilled to team up with Intego Pro,” said Sian Reynolds, Chair of RYA Cymru Wales. “Their commitment to quality and well-being aligns perfectly with our values. Together, we’ll champion sun safety and continue to support the development of sailing and boating throughout Wales.”

The partnership will include:

  • Intego Pro available at RYA Cymru Wales events and onboard Croseo (our designated RIB offering on the water practical and moral support for sailors);
  • Intego Pro given as prizes at RYA Cymru Wales sailing events;
  • a discount code for Welsh sailors who attend RYA CW events so that they can purchase Intego Pro online; and
  • Welsh athlete Catrin Williams, a member of the British Sailing Squad, becoming a Brand Ambassador for Intego Pro.

Catrin already uses Intego Pro 50+ and becoming a Brand Ambassador for Intego Pro builds on her existing advocacy for skin safety.

“Skin cancer is widely considered the most preventable cancer, yet in the UK its rates have more than doubled (147%) since the 1990s,” said Catrin.

It’s a reminder that small daily actions can make a big difference, which is why Catrin takes sun safety seriously and encourages others to do so too.

Sarah McGovern, RYA Cymru Wales Performance Manager, will lead educational initiatives from grass root sailing to members of the Welsh National Sailing Team to reinforce the importance of skin protection whilst out on the water.

With Wales’ breathtaking coastlines and vibrant sailing community, this collaboration sets a new standard for health-conscious participation.

“Joining forces with RYA Cymru Wales is a natural fit for Intego Pro and we are proud to be supporting RYA Cymru Wales,” said Russell New, founder and Director at Intego Sun Protection Ltd.

This announcement reinforces RYA Cymru Wales’ commitment to excellence, athlete welfare, and meaningful partnerships that elevate sailing and boating in Wales.
