IQFOil Worlds Fan Zone
Four weeks until Weymouth Pavilion comes alive with the Musto iQFOil Worlds Fan Zone
Weymouth Pavilion will come alive on Saturday 12 September with a dedicated Musto iQFOil World Championship Fan Zone as the world’s top windsurfers take to the water for finals day.
The event itself starts on Monday 7 September, with a week of racing building up to Saturday’s decider where the famous pavilion will be transformed into a dedicated Fan Zone. A full day of live racing will provide the backdrop to big-screen coverage, athlete interviews, music, family activities, food, competitions and opportunities to get out on the water.
From fans of the sport to friends and families looking for the perfect day out, there will be something for everyone to come along and enjoy.
Watch Live Racing
The Musto Main Stage will showcase the live racing from the water with our host, Lucy Mills, with Sandy Clunas, bringing expert punditry and insight across the day.
Expect special appearances from the British Sailing Team alongside a lively atmosphere to drop into with a live DJ, competitions and activities through the day.
With racing starting at midday, watch the men’s and women’s champions crowned and then welcome them back for the champions’ arrival and cheer them on at the medal ceremony on the Musto Main Stage.
Give sailing a go
From watching it, to experiencing it, visitors will have the chance to experience sailing for free through a range of taster sessions running throughout the day.
Pre-bookable activities include opportunities in dinghies, keelboats, windsurfers and accessible trips aboard M.V. Freedom. Spaces are limited, so advance booking is recommended.
Back the Brits
Defending World Champions, Emma Wilson, current World #1 and herself a two-time Olympic medallist, and Andy Brown, will spearhead the home nation efforts.
Islay Watson in the women’s field will be looking to take a podium finish with male counterparts Finn Hawkins, Duncan Monaghan, Sam Sills, Matt Barton and Will Ziegler all hoping for a strong performance.
Beyond the racing
The iQFOil Fan Zone is more than just racing and the high-octane experience of windsurfing. Visitors can enjoy a full day of activities from Marine CSI environmental sessions and face painting to competitions, knot-tying challenges, relaxed viewing areas and the Lewmar grinding rig.
Explore the technology behind the iQFOiL, with windsurfing equipment, pump foiling and eFoiling demonstrations, a windsurfing simulator, VR experiences and opportunities to learn how foiling works.
Local food vendors, the Weymouth Pavilion bar and event partners including the RYA, MG, Musto, Andrew Simpson Centre, OTC Watersports, Rockley Watersports and the UK iQFOiL Class will help create a lively space to eat, relax, get active and discover more about sailing, windsurfing and foiling.
