What’s on from the RYA at the 2025 Southampton International Boat Show

The UK’s largest on-water event is your chance to get inspired, expand your knowledge or try something new

The Southampton International Boat Show is back from 19–28 September 2025, promising ten days packed with boats, watersports, live entertainment and family fun.

The RYA will once again be at the heart of the action, with a fresh new location in the New Wave Hall on Stand H235.

Visitors to the stand can explore the world of RYA Training, pick up the latest publications, and get expert advice on everything from boating safety to qualifications.

RYA members can enjoy 20% off RYA publications at the stand and online for the duration of the show. Among the titles to take home will be those in the RYA’s Racing Series – the RYA Racing Rules Explained 2025-2028 eBook, the RYA Handy Guide to the Racing Rules 2025-2028, the Racing Rules of Sailing 2025-2028 and RYA Tactics.

There’s also the chance to win a free RYA audiobook, simply by sharing a selfie on socials of you listening to one of our audiobooks on the RYA stand at the show using the hashtag #RYAAUDIOBOOKS.

The Membership and Certifications team will also be on hand across both weekends (Friday-Sunday) for any questions or to help you get the most out of your RYA membership.

The show isn’t just about boats on display – it’s also a chance to hear from experts and pioneers across the marine world.

The RYA will be contributing to a programme of talks and discussions at the Boating Academy:

  • On Friday 19 September (11.05-11.30am) the RYA Green Blue hosts Closing the Loop, a panel session exploring how boating kit and equipment can be reused, repaired, or recycled. From wetsuits to winches, you’ll hear from organisations leading the way in finding circular solutions.
  • On Wednesday 24 September (10.30-11.00am) Former Olympic campaigner, America’s Cup and SailGP sailor Hannah Diamond – Chair of the RYA’s Female Futures Group – will shine a spotlight on the pathways for women in sailing and the mission to make Britain the best place in the world for female sailors to develop their skills.
  • And on Friday 26 September (12.20-1pm) British sailing historian David “Dougal” Henshall will bring to life 150 years of the RYA, telling the stories behind some of the most iconic moments in sailing and our history.

Visitors will also be able to get hands-on with an array of activities, including paddleboarding, kayaking, dinghy sailing and scuba diving in the Andark Dive Tank. The ever-popular Try-a-Boat sessions will provide a chance to step aboard everything from sleek cruisers to high-speed RIBs.

Away from the water, the show will serve up an exciting festival atmosphere with a full line-up of live music and entertainment, from BBC Radio 2’s Scott Mills DJ set to show-stopping tribute acts.

Food lovers can enjoy daily cooking demonstrations on the Chefs Ahoy stage and a vibrant food market with flavours from around the world, all washed down with a drink at the Guinness Bar. Thrilling on-water displays, a dramatic Spitfire flypast, and even a parachute display from the Red Devils will add to the spectacle.
