The Clean Water Sports Alliance (CWSA) of which the RYA is a founding member, is among 100 organisations and individuals shortlisted for the Sport Positive Awards 2025.
Shortlisted in the Purpose-led Partnership category for their collaboration on the importance of clean water, the CWSA are proud to have their work recognised among those leading the charge to create a more sustainable, resilient, equitable, and climate-conscious future for sport.
As well as raising awareness on behalf of their participants and athletes, the CWSA is also driving tangible change in the way water firms and the UK Government think about the use of blue spaces for recreational use.
RYA Sustainability Manager Kate Fortnam said: “Over the past 12 months, the Alliance has worked directly with water companies and engaged with ministers and officials to ensure the voices of millions of recreational water users are heard and represented in the industry’s future. We are already seeing the impact of this work, and being shortlisted for this award is a testament to the dedication and hard work of every member.”
Sport Positive Awards 2025 is a global industry awards that celebrates, uplifts, inspires and raises awareness of the people and organizations working in and around sport that are enabling game-changing activities that are ensuring sustainable business, climate action, biodiversity and environmental justice.

An independent faculty of global judges will decide who will lift the trophy for each category, and winners will be revealed during the Sport Positive Awards ceremony on 7 October 2025 in London. The Awards celebration is held in tandem with Sport Positive Summit 2025, taking place in 7-8 October 2025 in London.
