Submitting your PY results just got even easier

Get involved now and help level up next year’s club racing

We’re putting out our annual call for clubs to submit their race results and help make 2025 one of the strongest years yet for Portsmouth Yardstick (PY) data.

The PY system remains one of the most widely used and effective methods for ensuring competitive racing across multiple boat classes.

The more results we receive, the more accurate the numbers will be for 2026 – ensuring a more rewarding race experience for your members, with better competition, accuracy and accessibility in mixed fleet racing.

Each year, we ask clubs to submit their results, which the RYA collates and analyses before adjusting the PY numbers accordingly.

And this year, sending in your data has never been simpler.

Alongside Sailwave and HalSail – both of which already allow direct data submissions from their platforms – Sailing Club Manager’s Results module now also enables results to be uploaded straight to PY Online.

With a new dedicated menu, unique IDs for every class or design, and more accurate data handling, the Sailing Club Manager update makes the process smoother and quicker for clubs and helps strengthen the system for the benefit of all sailors.

You can also submit data directly using PY Online if you don’t use these platforms.

The deadline for submissions is Wednesday 31 December, and the new PY numbers for 2026 will be announced to coincide with the RYA Dinghy & Watersports Show weekend (21-22 February 2026).
