Introducing the 2026 Wavelength Virtual Training Series

Refreshed approach aims to make CPD more inclusive, flexible and accessible for RYA training professionals across the globe

In response to the evolving needs and feedback from our training network, we’re excited to share a new direction for the RYA Training Conference. This fresh approach will create more accessible opportunities for our training professionals around the world.

Reimagined under the Wavelength banner, the revamped suite of CPD opportunities will include a mix of in-person and virtual content designed to suit the needs of our diverse and skilled network, while helping even more people stay connected and up to date.

The in-person Training Conference will now shift from annual to biennial, returning in 2027. But for interim years and starting in 2026, we’re introducing the Wavelength Virtual Training Series, supported by Gallagher.

Running at the start of 2026, the Wavelength Virtual Training Series will feature six in-depth online episodes, allowing us to expand learning opportunities to far more of our 24,000 global instructors, appointment holders and training centre principals.

More flexible, more inclusive, and at no cost to participants.

What’s coming in 2026

The Wavelength Virtual Training Series will feature online episodes covering:

  • Radar
  • eNavigation
  • Safety Management
  • MCA Code of Practice updates
  • Inclusion in training
  • Plus, RYA Director of Training & Qualifications Richard Falk will share a 2025 round-up, and look ahead to what’s coming in 2026

You’ll also get access to a set of bite-sized CPD video shorts, perfect for dipping in whenever you’ve got time for a quick refresh.

Our quarterly Wavelength emails will continue to keep you informed in the meantime. You’ll get guidance, news, learning resources and timely updates direct to your inbox, so you can stay connected with what’s happening across the network.

Looking forward to 2027

While we’re embracing the reach and flexibility of virtual learning, we know how much value and enjoyment there is in gathering face-to-face. That’s why we’ll be bringing the Wavelength Training Conference back as a live event in 2027, ensuring we connect in-person and continue to foster networking, practical collaboration and shared learning across the training community.

More details – including schedules, registration and episode launch date – will be shared in due course.
