Match Racing

In many ways the simplest form of racing.

One on one competition in any one design boat.

The reality is an extremely challenging dual that test, tactics, strategy, rules knowledge and application, boathandling and teamwork.

RYA Match Racing is a sailors first step towards elite match racing events such as the the Women's or Youth match racing worlds, the Nations Cup and World Match Racing Tour.

The leading World and British match racers, Lucy MacGregor, Ian Williams, Ben Ainslie, Paul Campbell-James, David Carr, and Nick Hutton, began their sailing careers by competing in the National Match Racing Championship.
