Youth Awards

Do you know a young sailor who makes a difference to boating?

Nominations are now open for the RYA Musto Youth Awards. The awards are a fantastic opportunity to reward young people who are making an impact in boating.

These awards celebrate the achievements of young people in the sport whether it’s performance, volunteering, instructing, coaching or overcoming adversity.

Each of the ten winners will receive £150 to spend at Musto and will also be invited to take part in a once in a lifetime sailing experience with the British Sailing Team. A fantastic prize!

The awards are a fantastic opportunity for clubs and class associations, as well as individuals, to reward those who are making an impact in boating. Previous winner, Monique Vennis-Ozanne from OnBoard affiliated club Hill Head Sailing Club, was recognised for her volunteering efforts.

Upon learning that she had been credited for her help in helping to inspire the next generation and getting youngsters more involved in the sport, Monique said: ‘It feels really amazing to be recognised for my sailing and really great to be given this once in a lifetime opportunity to have a days sailing with some of the legendary names in sailing.’

Nominations can be made by clubs, class associations, coaches and individuals and will close on 1st November.

Those nominated must be under 19 years of age on 31st August 2021 (or under 19 on 31st December in exceptional circumstances). The nomination guidelines and criteria can be found here.
