Logan's Story

Sailing didn't just give him a hobby, it allowed him to have a focus, build relationships/ friendships, develop skills and most importantly he has found what has developed into a passion.

Logan describes his younger self as someone who struggled with new environments, new people and changes in routine.

When he started sailing, it took time to build trust and relationships.

But one small step led to another, and within his first season he had already achieved far more than anyone expected.

He found freedom and something that no other sport or hobby had been able to give him.

Sailing didn't just give him a hobby, it allowed him to have a focus, build relationships/ friendships, develop skills and most importantly he has found what has developed into a passion.

Sailability gave Logan a sense of belonging and a sense of belonging in a community that stretches now globally. He has just completed his 10th year sailing and his goals and hopes for future achievements continue to grow.

What sailability Offers - a sport for everyone.

For Logan, the sailability community has been transformative.

A space where people meet without judgement, tough days are understood, and everyone is free to be themselves, mentally, physically and emotionally. What ever the need, they can be met allowing freedom from life challenges.

The sense of acceptance has become a foundation for him over the years. He has built confidence, passion and drive to develop not only his skills but support others to achieve their goals and achieve their potential.
Through Sailability, Logan has had opportunities he could never of imagined. He has raced internationally across the globe, representing his country, growing, developing skills and qualifications. Logan has naturally become a role model to other sailors especially for younger sailors who are facing similar challenges to what he is or has.

Logan's message is simple: Sailing is and can be for everyone, making sailing inclusive. Sailing isn't defined by background, ability, or circumstance. It's a sport that allows you to be you and gain from it what you want. It allows you to grow, explore and discover what you are capable of and allow you to achieve.

For Logan, it has become a lifeline and a passion. He has gained many qualifications. He has been recognised for his achievements and the difference he makes to other peoples sailing journey. He has received several awards and is a 'Rising Star'.

For someone else, sailing might be the beginning of an entirely new chapter.

Giving back through sailing

One of the most important things that means the most to Logan now is watching newcomers take their first steps into the sport.

He recognises the anxiety, uncertainty and challenges but can also see the potential of what can be gained.
Helping others find their own confidence and building their own journey is something he describes as humbling and deeply rewarding to be a part of.
