Spring 2026 Connect Calls: Join the Conversation
Join us online to share learn and grow as a community
As we look ahead to a new season on the water, RYA Scotland is delighted to launch our Spring series of 2026 Connect Forum Calls. These sessions are open to organisations, individuals, volunteers, instructors, and anyone keen to strengthen their knowledge and engagement within our boating community.
Each month from January to April, we’re shining a spotlight on a different topic designed to support, inform, and inspire. Whether you’re looking to navigate affiliation requirements, enhance good environmental practise, strengthen your club racing offering, or prepare for centre inspections, there’s a session for you.
Each call will run twice on the assigned date, in an effort to give more people the opportunity to dial in around their commitments. Calls will run at 12pm and again at 7pm.
January Connect Forum Call | Understanding RYA Affiliation
Wednesday 28 January
Join us as we unpack the benefits of RYA Affiliation and guide you through your 2026 re-affiliation process. We’ll help you navigate the online portal, understand which recommended documents apply to your organisation, and highlight some of the lesser-known benefits of being an RYA affiliate.
February Connect Calls | Protecting Our Playground
Wednesday 25 February
For many within the recreational boating community, our waters are our playground - and protecting them is vital. This session explores how we can reduce pollution, safeguard wildlife, and take positive environmental action within our sailing spaces. We’re also keen to hear from clubs about any local environmental or conservation initiatives already under way.
March Connect Calls | Teamwork Makes the Dream Work
Wednesday 25 March
With the racing season just around the corner for many, join us for a sport psychology conversation with Dr Elanor Cormack, where we’ll explore how to build an effective, high‑performing team. We’ll discuss tools you can take straight onto the water - from improving communication at the start line to building tactical cohesion during longer passage racing.
April Connect Call | The Art of Getting the Most Out of Your Centre Inspection
In April, we’ll focus on helping RYA Recognised Training Centres understand, prepare for, and feel confident about their inspection process. More details and booking links will be shared shortly.
