Making a difference

Meet the sailors, coaches, groups and initiatives making a difference and leading the way on our water.

Reflecting the faces, the people, the work, the challenges, and the future… we are connecting the dots around the country, inspiring change in the process. Led by our Together on Water strategy, at the RYA we are on a mission to make our waters a welcoming space for all.

Reflections on Water is about all the people, clubs and communities who make our waters so vibrant while addressing the barriers that prevent others from joining in.

It’s our newest campaign, that throughout the year, will be filled with stories, announcements, activations, and work designed to make a lasting impact on the boating and water sports community.

Showcase your stories #ReflectionsOnWater

Throughout 2025, we will continue to share your stories, culminating in the creation of a UK ‘Reflections on Water’ Map. This map will visually celebrate the incredible individuals and activities shaping the future of water sport.

Do you have a story to share? Join the Conversation with #ReflectionsOnWater.

At the RYA, we are inviting you to share your own #ReflectionsOnWater stories on Instagram, tagging us at the @RoyalYachtingAssociation to showcase the people, clubs, or teams you feel are making a positive impact

Whether this is sharing your story of the work you are doing to make a difference on the water or shouting out a club, person or programme who have inspired or helped you – we want to know.
